My Recent Mommy Realizations

There is no way to predict how parenting will go. Most of us start with a perfect idea of parenting and quickly figure out how far-fetched that idea was. A lot of things change when little humans come into the picture. Here are just five of my recent mommy realizations:

  • When I was younger people would say I was born to be a lawyer because I would argue my point, no matter how small, to the death. Now I get to argue with tiny versions of myself that I helped create. My dad is probably laughing his ass off, in spirit, right about now.
  • I used to be a smoker, and that meant being able to step outside for a few minutes to enjoy a moment of quiet. Now I can’t even pee with the door closed without one of my kids trying to open it and wanting to know what I’m doing, or if I can help them with something.
  • My anxiety with clutter is at an all-time high. With three little people, ages 6 and under, that means more stuff and less space to organize. Guess I will have to wait a while for the clutter to settle. In the meantime, I will just enjoy the free snuggles and giggles, in between the frantic organization and cleaning sprees, instead.
  • I used to have to lay awake forever before being able to drift off to dream-land. Now, unless there is something really out of the norm happening, I am out like a light before I know it. Until someone starts to cry for “Mommy.” Mommy exhaustion is a real thing.
  • I never once thought I looked good in a bikini before having kids. After three kids I now have smaller boobs than I started with, accompanied by stretch marks. To top it off, I have a varicose spider vein thingy on the back of my leg to ensure I never look good in a bikini, lol.

I haven’t given any of this much thought, until now. How many other moms sit and think about all their personal weirdness since having kids? What are your mommy realizations?

Peace, love, and happiness to you allā£
